Ammar Alnahhas exhibits recent works at Galeria Madrigal, created during his artist residency at the Madrigal Choir’s rehearsals, as well as selected works from his personal collection. Highly regarded by collectors around the world and with an extensive exhibition history, Ammar Alnahhas studied Fine Arts between 1997 and 2001 at the University of Damascus, Syria. Having settled in Romania in 2006, the artist retains Mesopotamian cultural patterns in his works, now combining them with motifs from South-Eastern Europe.
„Ammar Alnahhas’s exhibition invites us to enter a distinctive world – a world seen through the eyes of the Syrian artist, where Eastern motifs blend harmoniously with themes familiar to audiences in Romania. With the evocative title «Din alte lumi», this final exhibition of 2025 at Galeria Madrigal promises contrasts and emotions that will challenge and inspire every visitor.” – Silvana Dulamă-Popa, curator of Galeria Madrigal
Housed at Casa Madrigal on Dealul Mitropoliei in Bucharest, Galeria Madrigal is a creative residency programme and a space that brings together music and visual art in equal measure. During the period March – December 2025, 10 contemporary artists are invited to create in the rehearsal room and then exhibit in the gallery for a month.
Galeria Madrigal forms part of the „Marin Constantin 100” anniversary programme. In 2025, the Madrigal Choir celebrates 100 years since the birth of its founder, Marin Constantin (1925 – 2011), through an extensive series of cultural projects and events taking place throughout the year.
