The Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin”, through the Programul Național Cantus Mundi and with the support of the Compania Națională Loteria Română, has equipped 20 schools in rural or disadvantaged areas with teaching materials for music lessons as part of the „Ora de muzică rămâne în orar” project.

The kit developed during the project contains: Thomann Rainbow Deskbells, boomwhackers BW-DG, a metronome, collections of scores and other modern teaching materials needed to provide the best possible conditions for music lessons.

All these teaching materials aim to improve the teaching experience in music and choir lessons at 20 schools selected on social and geographical criteria. The „Ora de muzică rămâne în orar” project also aims to promote diversity, tolerance in schools and children’s inclusion.

„The musical instruments received through the „Ora de muzică rămâne în orar” project form the foundation of instrumental music education in any school and are absolutely essential for every music lesson to run properly while giving children a high-quality, enjoyable and dynamic learning experience. For example, instrumental practice using musical bells is the starting point for developing musical skills and musical and aesthetic taste. Providing them is a real help to teachers. Together with the resources posted on the Cantus Mundi platform, these instruments give children a much broader artistic perspective on the art of sound. I applaud the initiative of the Programul Național Cantus Mundi!” – said Ana – Maria Rusu, music teacher, conductor and Cantus Mundi trainer.

Implementing the „Ora de muzică rămâne în orar” project is more than necessary in rural and disadvantaged areas, where the risk of dropping out of school reaches alarming levels. Against this background, the project aims to reduce barriers that could lead to discrimination between pupils by creating an environment in which all pupils can develop together harmoniously.
