The programme for the special concert „Despre Cultură” includes both works of an archaic character, such as those from „Codex Caioni” – the collection compiled by Transylvanian Franciscan friar Ion Căianu and arranged by Constantin Rîpă – and excerpts from the celebrated „Florilegiu Bizantin” assembled by maestro Marin Constantin, alongside modern and folk-inspired pieces by Mihail Jora, Alexandru Pașcanu, Paul Constantinescu, Cornelia Tăutu and Corneliu Cezar.
The event will be broadcast live by Televiziunea Română on TVR Cultural.
The special concert „Despre cultură” is part of the „MADRIGAL 60” anniversary programme, which includes an extensive series of more than 30 special projects throughout 2023. It marks 60 years of uninterrupted activity, musical excellence and cultural diplomacy for Corul Madrigal, which has become a symbol of national artistic continuity and of Romania’s cultural relevance and image around the world.
