About the performance

The „Madrigal – Marin Constantin” National Chamber Choir, conducted by Anna Ungureanu, alongside children from the Cantus Mundi choirs, gave a special concert in the courtyard of Colțea Clinical Hospital in Bucharest on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, starting at 20:45. Dedicated to doctors and current and former patients, the event marks World Patient Safety Day.

The event is organised in partnership with ASSMB – the Bucharest Hospitals and Medical Services Administration and with the support of Colțea Clinical Hospital – Bucharest’s first hospital, as part of the „Madrigal pentru spitale” programme, an innovative initiative that brings choral music into healthcare settings as a form of emotional and psychological support for patients, their relatives and carers, and medical staff.

The Madrigal Choir’s concert at Colțea Clinical Hospital continues the experience begun at „Dr. Victor Gomoiu” Children’s Clinical Hospital, which hosted the first artistic performance under the „Madrigal pentru Spitale” umbrella.

For one evening, the courtyard of Colțea Clinical Hospital, in the heart of Bucharest, became a meeting place for music and harmony, in an event unique in its scale and openness. The voices of the Madrigal Choir and the children from Cantus Mundi rang out in a space usually dedicated to care and recovery, as a symbolic gesture of solidarity with those working in the healthcare system, former and current patients, and their families.
