The Madrigal Choir brings the Christmas spirit to Sibiu and evokes the unique atmosphere of the holidays through a special repertoire selection, including much-loved Romanian carols and the most beautiful international carols. As every year, children’s choirs from Programul Național Cantus Mundi will join the Madrigal Choir with the best-known Christmas songs and the emotion of going carol singing.

For more than half a century, the events organised by the Madrigal Choir around Christmas have been one of Romania’s longest-standing and most consistent cultural traditions. Every December, the Madrigal Choir connects with Romanians and announces the celebration of Christ’s Nativity on major stages and in sacred spaces in Bucharest and across the country.

„Madrigal de Crăciun, la Sibiu” is part of the MADRIGAL 60 anniversary programme, running throughout 2023. The programme marks 60 years of uninterrupted activity, musical excellence and diplomacy through culture for the Madrigal Choir, which has become a symbol of national artistic continuity and of Romania’s cultural relevance and image around the world.
