GALERIA MADRIGAL | Exhibition: Ana Maria Panaitescu

The „Madrigal – Marin Constantin” National Chamber Choir and Centrul de Cultură Arcuș invite the public to discover artist Ana Maria Panaitescu’s works at Galeria Madrigal, housed in one of Bucharest’s most beautiful homes.

The opening will be attended by artist Ana Maria Panaitescu and art historian Vladimir Bulat. The event takes place on Thursday, 8 May, from 19:00 at Casa Madrigal at Aleea Dealul Mitropoliei nr. 11, București.

The exhibition is open to visitors during the opening event and at weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays,  10 – 11 May, 17 – 18 May, 24 – 25 May and 31 May – 1 June, between 10:00 and 18:00.

Admission is free.

Ana Maria Panaitescu exhibits recent works created during her artistic residency at the Madrigal Choir’s rehearsals, alongside selected works from her personal collection, at Galeria Madrigal.

„Ana Maria Panaitescu comes as a surprise to Galeria Madrigal’s visitors. Her approach belongs to assemblage and textile art, with works that leave viewers space for their own interpretation. For us, the contrast between Casa Madrigal’s architecture and the artist’s works is a challenge intended to demonstrate the many facets of the Galeria Madrigal project and our desire to unite music and art through different styles and approaches.” – Silvana Dulamă, curator of Galeria Madrigal

Housed in Casa Madrigal on Dealul Mitropoliei in Bucharest, Galeria Madrigal is a creative residency programme and a cross-disciplinary space dedicated equally to music and the visual arts. From March – December 2025, 10 contemporary artists are invited to create in the rehearsal room and then exhibit in the gallery for a month.

Galeria Madrigal forms part of the „Marin Constantin 100” anniversary programme. In 2025, the Madrigal Choir celebrates 100 years since the birth of its founder, Marin Constantin (1925 – 2011), with an extensive series of cultural projects and events taking place throughout the year.
