„Tania Kolotylo is 17 and comes from Ukraine. In peacetime, she would have been at school, where she was studying music. Today, however, she is a refugee, forced to flee the war with her mother and brother. Today she was the guest of honour of Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin”, singing with the ensemble for her country, for her grandparents and friends who stayed at home to fight, and in the hope that this pointless war, which has changed her adolescence forever, will end as soon as possible. It is heartbreaking when Tania tells us that she phones every day to find out whether those who stayed at home are still alive…” – said Emil Pantelimon, Manager of Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin, during the recording.

„I am from Ukraine. Because of the war taking place in my country, I had to flee to Romania with my mother and brother to save our lives. The situation in Ukraine is very difficult now. It is a terrible war in which Russia is the aggressor. I am deeply grateful to the Romanian volunteers who support my compatriots at the border, receive them and offer them shelter and help. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this tremendous support.
I want to tell those who remained in Ukraine and could not escape to be strong and believe wholeheartedly that our people will prevail. We are a strong nation in this world and will overcome every difficulty. Much of our family remains at home: grandparents, sisters and brothers, now forced to hide from the war and defend their lives as best they can. PLEASE STOP ALL THIS! We do not need this war; we want to live in tranquillity and peace
” – said Tania, 17, a refugee from Ukraine, during filming

Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin” stands in solidarity with the suffering of the Ukrainian people and joins Romanian initiatives helping to ease the situation of refugees in Romania. In the coming period, through the Cantus Mundi National Programme, Corul Madrigal will undertake several nationwide activities for children in refugee centres in our country.
Madrigal and Cantus Mundi specialists and trainers are preparing interactive workshops on communication through music and movement, and on music education, working with children and teenagers from families hosted in Romania.
