On Tuesday, 21 July 2020, at 21:00, Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin”, conducted by Anna Ungureanu, opens its summer concert series with  „Hora staccato” – a folk music concert. The first in a series of 5, Corul Madrigal’s summer concert will take place outdoors at Amfiteatru „Mihai Eminescu” in Parcul Național (Lia Manoliu) in Bucharest, at the junction of Mihai Coravu and Bvd. Basarabia.

Madrigal’s summer season is organised in partnership with Centrul Cultural „Mihai Eminescu” in Bucharest’s Sector 2.

The event „Hora staccato” combines the ensemble’s unmistakable sound with authentic Romanian folklore, brings guest artists to the stage and creates a colourful, dynamic performance in both sound and stage movement. „Stagiunea estivală Madrigal 2020” forms part of the national SAMER project series – Stagiunea Artistică Muzicală Estivală a României initiated by the Ministry of Culture, which invites audiences to live outdoor events throughout the summer.

„We are delighted to announce the launch of Corul Madrigal’s concert series, for which we have prepared 5 themed concerts with a varied repertoire, one for each week. Corul Madrigal is thus among the first national concert institutions to resume its activities, now outdoors and in safe conditions, continuing a tradition of almost 60 years of offering Romanians music of the highest quality and „food for the soul” in the most difficult circumstances” – said Emil Pantelimon, Manager of Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin”.

Resuming concerts and organising „Stagiuniii estivale Madrigal 2020” forms part of Corul Național de Cameră „Madrigal – Marin Constantin”’s overall strategy to maintain a lasting connection with audiences and generate valuable cultural content, which Romanians particularly need in difficult times. The season’s 5 concerts will take place at Amfiteatru „Mihai Eminescu”  (21 July, 26 July, 2 August, 9 August and 16 August 2020), in compliance with the legislation in force governing cultural events with audiences. The organisers have prepared a rich, stylistically varied repertoire, different for each performance, and distinctive set design characteristic of Madrigal events in recent years.

Tickets for „Hora staccato” – the folk music concert on 21 July at 21:00, are available on bilete.ro . Tickets cost 30 RON.
